Community Guidelines
Last updated · May 7, 2026
huk works because most people are decent. These guidelines exist for the people who aren't. They apply to everything you do on huk — your profile, your photos, your messages, your Now statuses, your groups.
The basics
- You must be 18 or older to use huk.
- Be the person you actually are.
- Treat other users the way you’d want to be treated.
- If something feels wrong, use the Report button.
- If you don’t want to talk to someone, use the Block button.
What is not allowed
Any of the following will get content removed and may get the account banned. Severe violations result in an immediate, permanent ban with no warning.
- Sexual content involving minors. Zero tolerance, first offence, permanent ban, reported to authorities.
- Threats and harassment. Threats of violence, hate speech, slurs, doxing, stalking, repeated unwanted contact after a block.
- Non-consensual content. Sharing intimate images of another person without their consent. Sharing screenshots of private conversations.
- Impersonation. Pretending to be someone you are not, including a celebrity, a public figure, or another huk user.
- Solicitation and commercial activity. Sex for money, escorting offers, MLM pitches, scams, recruitment for unrelated services.
- Illegal activity.Anything that would be illegal in your country or the recipient’s country, including drug sales and weapons trafficking.
- Spam. Mass messaging, copy-paste outreach, links to unrelated sites, fake giveaways.
- Platform abuse. Trying to break, scrape, or reverse-engineer the app. Creating multiple accounts to evade a block or a ban.
What we encourage
- Use real, recent photos of yourself.
- Take “no” for an answer the first time.
- If you’re meeting someone offline, choose a public place, tell a friend, and trust your gut.
- Use the privacy controls — incognito, hide distance, hide online status — whenever you need them.
- Report problems early. We’d rather hear about it.
How to report someone
- Open the profile or message.
- Tap the menu (the three dots in the top right) and choose Report.
- Pick a reason. Add a short description if you want — anything you add helps moderators decide quickly.
- To stop further contact immediately, also tap Block. Blocking is silent — the other person is not told.
What happens after you report
Reports go to human moderators. We aim to review every report within 24 hours. Where the violation is severe and the evidence is clear, we may act sooner. Possible outcomes:
- Content removed — the offending photo, message, or status comes down.
- Warning — the user gets a single notice. A second violation tends to escalate.
- Temporary suspension — usually 7 to 30 days, depending on the violation.
- Permanent ban — for repeated, severe, or unsafe behaviour. Banned accounts cannot rejoin under a new email.
- Referral to authorities — for content that involves minors, credible threats of violence, or other criminal conduct.
We don’t share moderation decisions publicly. If you reported someone, we can confirm we received your report; we usually can’t share the outcome.
Appeals
If your account or content was actioned and you believe it was a mistake, email support@hukapp.iofrom the address on file. Tell us what happened and why you think the decision is wrong. We’ll have a different reviewer look at it.
False reports
Filing knowingly false reports — using Report as a weapon to harass someone you don’t like — is itself a violation. Repeat false reporters can be suspended.
Questions
If something isn’t covered here, email support@hukapp.io. We will update these guidelines as the app evolves.
